Guenther Steiner, the Haas Team Principal, has recently talked about having an additional 11th team on the F1 grid in the upcoming years of the sport. Steiner ardently believes that there is no benefit for the current teams from having an additional team in the sport. He has indicated that he is not in support of the idea.

Guenther Steiner, while shedding light on the same, added, “I mean an 11th team joining first of all is not up to me to decide and it’s not up to the teams to decide. It’s down to the FIA at the end of the day. But my opinion is that if you cannot see an upside for everybody, why would you do it? Because then it’s a downside. If they’re not adding to the party it’s not worth it.

I mean, there’s now 10 very strong teams in Formula One. There is no weak team anymore. There’s no backmarker. Everybody’s financially stable, so we don’t really need one. If somebody comes and gives us an upside, all of us, I think we would welcome them. But if it is just to have more teams for the sake of it, I think why would I vote for it to get less in return in the future? I don’t want to speak for the other teams, but I would say their opinion is very similar. We are all in the same boat when it comes to the business side of F1.

The Haas F1 boss has talked in detail about the eleventh F1 team saga and made it clear that, according to him, there is no benefit to having an additional team in the sport. He feels that all the current teams are financially stable and that adding an eleventh team would not help anyone on the business side of the sport.

The last two years for the Haas F1 team were miserable as they struggled with many factors. However, the 2023 F1 season has brought good fortune for the Kannapolis-based F1 team. The VF-23 has looked incredibly strong during the qualifying sessions and has given the midfield heavy hitters a run for their money.

Moreover, after three races in the ongoing campaign, Haas F1 has scored 7 points thanks to the brilliant efforts of its two drivers, Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen. Moreover, to the surprise of many, the former has managed to do the bulk of the scoring for the team. Hulkenberg has scored 6 in comparison to Magnussen’s 1.

Considering everything, things are looking promising for Haas this year. They are currently seventh in the Constructors Championship, and if they are able to their scoring run going, then there is every chance that they will be able to have a real say in the midfield battle this year.
