Guenther Steiner, the Haas Team Principal, has made it known that the model of having 24 races in a season is just about the maximum a Formula 1 team can manage. He believes having more than 24 events in a single year would just be too much for everyone and would cause a lot of issues for the teams.
The ongoing 2023 Formula 1 season was originally also going to host 24 races. Still, because of the cancellation of the event at the Autodromo Enzo e Dimo Ferrari, it has now got 23 races taking place. Twenty-four rounds are the limit that was set when the Concorde agreement was signed between teams F1 and the FIA, and it is going to run until 2026.
Gunther Steiner sees no reason to stretch the number of races further after 2026, and while talking about the same, he told RaceFans, “[Having] 24 races, with the business model we have got now, I think it’s the limit. “If you have more races, it needs to be a big step financially that you can actually have two teams [crews] running it. Otherwise, I think it’s very difficult to attract people to work in F1.“
“It is putting an effort in. I see from my side, obviously, I come in on Wednesdays [but] some of the crew which are the set-up crew, they are away sometimes months in a row. That’s a long time and for them it’s more difficult than for me. Obviously for us personally as well it’s not easy to be away 24 weekends for racing.”

Guenther Steiner’s Haas is currently eight in the 2023 Constructors standings

While Guenther Steiner has shown his disapproval toward having more than 24 races in F1, he has got a challenging task on his hands during the ongoing 2023 F1 season. Haas is currently eighth in the Constructors standings and has a lot of completion to deal with during the upcoming second leg.
Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen have so far managed 11 points in the season, and the Haas has comfortably been languishing in the lower end of the grid for most of the ongoing season. Moreover, the Williams F1 team has also made a big step up in the recent F1 races and could prove to be a big problem for Haas.
The second leg is kicking off on the 25th of August and it is going to be fascinating to see how the Guether Steiner-led team would fare against the lights of AlphaTauri, Williams, and the Hinwii-based Alfa Romeo F1 team. These three teams are clearly Haas’s competition this year at the pinnacle of motor racing.
