Guenther Steiner has been leading the charge of Haas at the pinnacle of motor racing for several years. While he has made quite a few changes to the team since its inception, the American outfit has not been able to fight in the midfield or for the coveted championship so far.

Keeping this in view, Guenther Steiner has recently made it known that he would ideally want to have the services of Red Bull stalwart, Adrian Newey at Haas. He firmly believes that with Newey in his garage, Haas would definitely be able to fight for the world championship.

Steiner was recently asked to name one person currently working in F1 to join his team for free.

I will take Adrian Newey because I’m sure he can make a car which can win. The answer is quite obvious. Even if you take Max (Verstappen) with our car, we wouldn’t win. I think if we had a Red Bull, Nico could win races and Kevin.

Looking at the reaction of the Italian-American, it is quite clear that he views Red Bulls Adrian Newey as the most prized commodity at the pinnacle of motor racing. Moreover, he even kept the Brit in higher regard in comparison to the reigning world champion, Max Verstappen.

Guenther Steiner has a huge job on his hands ahead of 2024

While Guenther Steiner has revealed his desire to have Adrian Newey at Haas, the reality is that Red Bull is never going to let their Chief Technical Officer go. Keeping this into view, Steiner has a big job to do at the Kannapolis-based team ahead of the all-important 2024 F1 season.

Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen endured a terrible second half of the 2023 F1 season. The VF-23 was just not able to perform well in comparison to its rivals and because of this, Haas ended their campaign plumb last having only managed twelve points.

The Haas F1 team since making their debut at the pinnacle of motor racing, has most often been seen fighting for the lower positions on the grid. However, Guenther Steiner would want to change this during the 2024 F1 season and try and transform his team into a proper midfield outfit.
