The only American team on the grid, Haas visits the States with high expectations. This would be the first home race of the season for the team, with Austin Grand Prix yet to come later in the season. Formula 1 has also added Las Vegas Grand Prix on the calendar for 2023 as a result of huge success of the sport in America. This has turned the tide on the Haas team’s fortune who has previously struggled to secure sponsorship deals due to their string of poor results in the sport.

“Formula 1 is in a good place at the moment,” says Haas boss, Guenther Steiner

One of the key reasons remain the Netflix series, Drive To Survive for a huge surge of following in the United States. Haas team principal, Guenther Steiner reflected on this by saying, “It’s always exciting to race at home and now having a second race in Miami, it’s even more exciting and it’s closer to our base in North Carolina. Having a show around the racing is a great addition and the combination of both makes it more valuable to the sport, but the main event is always the racing.”

HAAS lost its valuable sponsor, Urakali at the start of the 2022 season. Ever since the American team has been in search for new sponsorship deals and have received great interest by many brands after the prospect of three races in USA. Guenther Steiner reflected on this by saying “I’ve seen the impact. We’ve got a lot more interest for partnerships, for sponsorship and it has risen quite a lot. Now, we can take a little bit of time to go through and see how it develops but for sure, having the race in Miami and adding a race in Las Vegas next year, a third race in the States, will help all of this. We’re in no hurry but the sport is in a good place at the moment.”

The Miami Grand Prix is a track full of mysteries for each team on the grid as the sport has never visited the venue before. This could result a shuffle in the pecking order and HAAS can be the opportunistic team in its home race. The sole American team in the paddock aims to add more points to its tally in the 2022 season and continues to build towards this goal.
