Drive to Survive has undeniably propelled Haas Team Principal Guenther Steiner into the spotlight, transforming him into a beloved figure within the F1 paddock. Steiner’s passionate outbursts and captivating command of colorful language have endeared him to fans worldwide. However, in true Steiner fashion, his new book Surviving to Drive too has a fair share of f-bombs.

Guenther Steiner stated that in Formula 1, trust is crucial when working with others. While he avoids swearing, intense situations can lead to different outcomes. He acknowledged that in the work environment, words can be said without literal intent. Steiner mentioned that if viewers dislike swearing, they should refrain from watching, as explicit language is mentioned beforehand.

“Formula 1 is an environment where you work with people based on trust. I never try to swear against people,” said Guenther Steiner. “In a work environment you sometimes say something you don’t literally mean that way. I get that some viewers don’t like all that swearing. And if you don’t like that, don’t look at it.”

Unfiltered language turned Guenther Steiner into a Formula One Legend

The unapologetic intensity of phrases like “we’re a f****** bunch of w******” and “you do not f** smash my door” has become a symbol of Steiner’s unfiltered passion. As a result, his fame has soared to new heights, solidifying his status as a celebrated figure in Formula 1. Four years have passed since the debut of Drive to Survive, and today Guenther Steiner’s face graces t-shirts alongside his unforgettable lines from previous seasons.

Guenther Steiner, in the same interview, acknowledged that the book’s existence owes entirely to Drive to Survive. Without it, the idea wouldn’t have materialized. He believed that individuals need to be acquainted with Drive to Survive to grasp the book’s content fully. Without prior exposure, distinguishing truth from fiction would be challenging, making the text less comprehensible.

“We agree that this book would never have happened without Drive to Survive. Absolutely no one would have ever come up with the idea,” said Guenther. Guenther Steiner, an Italian-American, is the fourth-longest-serving team principal in Formula 1. Beyond his eccentricities, there are two sides to him. Since 2016, Steiner has faced numerous obstacles as Haas‘ team principal. These challenges vary in significance and have shaped his role in the team.
