Haas’ final upgrade faces delay, expected to arrive until ‘this’ Grand Prix

Haas team principal Guenther Steiner

In the 2022 season, American-based racing team Haas has yet to provide any major changes, with Haas team principal Guenther Steiner emphasising that optimising configuration is more vital than pushing ahead important changes. Steiner had stated that the French Grand Prix would be the round where Haas will introduce their first upgrade kit.

Haas will not be capable of completing their upgrades in time for the French GP and will instead try to have them prepared for the Hungarian GP. Guenther Steiner has also confirmed that this upgrade pack will be the team’s final one for 2022 before shifting attention to 2023.

We originally planned with France, but now it looks more like Hungary. First, we wanted to check something in the wind tunnel. But now we’re working with all our might on the reproduction of the parts,” mentioned Steiner about the team’s trajectory.

Despite failing to rival the caliber of competitors Alpine, McLaren, and even Alpha Tauri in terms of speed, the VF-22 has never been a big issue. In terms of speed, Haas has certainly slowed marginally in comparison to the rivals. Nonetheless, the team’s drop in the rankings is largely due to logistical blunders and poor driving.

Irrespective of their significant limitation this year, some may be disappointed to learn that Haas would provide no enhancements in the second half of the season, despite the fact that other teams will reduce1 advancement as the year develops.

After giving up the previous two seasons to comply with these criteria, it’s possible that Aston Martin will trail Haas in the dust in the constructors’ standings, relegating the American team to ninth place in the championship.
