Lewis and Daniel
Lewis Hamilton has shared his opinion on the situation of Daniel Ricciardo and has indicated that he wants to see him in F1 next year, he feels the Australian has still got a lot to achieve.
Lewis Hamilton has the utmost respect for the former Red Bull driver as they have had quite a few intense on-track battles in the past and considers Ricciardo’s departure as a loss for the sport.
The Woking-based McLaren F1 team signed Daniel Ricciardo in 2021 on a three-year deal, however, after a disappointing stint, has recently decided to end the Australian’s contract by paying him a hefty amount.
Moreover, Hamilton has said that longer contracts make sense to him and while talking about it said, “When you do a short contract, it takes time to bond with the team.”
“And it takes time to build relationships, it’s not something you can do in half a year or a year. I’m incredibly grateful for my journey with my team.”
The Brit has shed light on his long career with Mercedes and has shown gratitude towards the Brackley-based team for all that they have done for him over the years.
Lewis Hamilton hopes for Daniel Ricciardo to have another shot in F1
Daniel Ricciardo’s recent announcement of leaving McLaren did not come as a huge surprise for anyone, considering, what had gone on before it. However, with the 33-year-old not having a seat for 2023, Hamilton hopes for him to find one soon.
While talking about the same, Hamilton said, “I still think he deserves a place in the sport, so I really hope there’s a great place for him because he still has a lot to achieve.”
The 37-year-old has made it crystal clear that according to him, the Honeybadger still has a lot to give to the sport and just wishes that he finds a place where he would be able to unleash his full potential as an F1 driver.
Moreover, as per the F1 rumor mill, it is believed that Haas and Alpine could prove to be an option for Daniel Ricciardo but nothing can be said for certain, given the level of unpredictability of the sport.
