Mercedes' teammates George Russell and Lewis Hamilton

Mercedes had a significantly improved weekend with both George Russell and Lewis Hamilton scoring some valuable points to take the team to second in the constructor’s championship. It’s been a period of turmoil for Mercedes who seem to lack the pace of the Ferraris and Red Bulls. Australian GP was an encouraging result but not a result that neither the drivers nor the team can be completely satisfied with.

But what impressed everyone the most was both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell’s desire and hunger to grind out a result despite not having a car to compete with Ferrari and Red Bull. George Russell claimed his first podium with Mercedes after benefitting from a safety car intervention which allowed him to pass his team mate, Lewis Hamilton. But it wasn’t easy as it seemed even after steering clear of him.

Lewis Hamilton is a seven time world champion for a reason and he showed us why. Even though he was hit by some bad luck but that didn’t stop to chase and hassle George Russell. The Briton was not in any mood to accept P4 without putting up a fight and that’s what he did. George Russell was never sure of his position.
