An independent investigation was launched by Red Bull at the start of February after Christian Horner was accused of inappropriate and controlling behavior by a female staff member. Horner completely denied all the accusations and the investigation conducted by an external law firm took longer to be complete. After the conclusion of the probe, the Englishman was cleared of any wrongdoing by Red Bull.
Recently, after the team cleared Red Bull’s team principal after a thorough investigation, a mail was dropped by an anonymous sender to many journalists and important F1 personalities. What was more surprising for everyone was that the sender had access to the mail addresses of journalists with permanent passes for the upcoming season. The leaked evidence was taken by the storm, leaving everyone flabbergasted. When asked about the same Red Bull advisor, Marko Helmut he admitted he is shocked by the leak.
I hadn’t even noticed. I am stunned and surprised that the documents were leaked. I myself have never seen them.Marko Helmut said, as reported by news.Italy24.
As understood by the media, the advisor was in darkness till now about the leaked evidence. While the leaked information is bringing more trouble, people involved in the sport are asking for more transparency. This leaked information is only bringing more trouble to Red Bull, as there are chances of another investigation being launched in the matter.
Red Bulls’ team principal breaks his silence on ‘Leaked’ evidence.
During the investigation, Horner was called in and questioned for 8 hours. The process was tedious. Recently Horner was cleared and as the team was about to release the sign, the evidences were leaked by an anonymous sender. Leaving the shocking wave through the entire F1 world, the news spread like a forest fire.
I won’t comment on anonymous speculation, but to reiterate, I have always denied the allegations. I respected the integrity of the independent investigation and fully cooperated with it every step of the way. It was a thorough and fair investigation conducted by an independent specialist barrister and it has concluded, dismissing the complaint made. I remain fully focused on the start of the season.Christian Horner said: independent.co.uk
Horner might be in hot waters again as the FIA members also received the mail. As of this moment, Red Bull has denied comment further on the matter by stating that it is a personal matter between Horner and the other party involved and that it would be inappropriate to do so.
