As the 2023 season unfolds and the Monza race draws nearer, Helmut Marko, Red Bull’s advisor, has suggested that he might be willing to accept defeat if Ferrari were to be the team to end Red Bull’s winning streak, especially if such an occasion occurs at Ferrari’s home track. This statement reflects the acknowledgment of Red Bull’s impressive winning streak in the 2023 season.

Red Bull has established a commanding lead with 540 points and an impressive streak of podium finishes and wins in every race. This sheer dominance exhibited by Red Bull has prompted concerns within the F1 community, as their unparalleled performance poses a potential threat to the competitiveness of the sport.

Consequently, numerous teams are intensifying their efforts to bridge the gap and position themselves alongside Red Bull. The team, so far, has maintained an undefeated record in the 2023 Formula One season. According to Marko, Max Verstappen’s defeat before the end of the season would likely require a significant stroke of bad luck.

However, when asked by oe24 which team he would be most comfortable with if they were the ones to end Red Bull’s unbeaten streak in F1 2023, Marko chose Ferrari. He said (H&T: PlanetF1), “For that to happen, Max would have to have a technical defect. But if we are beaten, then I would somehow begrudge Ferrari that, especially in Monza.”

As Formula 1 anticipates the Monza Grand Prix, teams are keenly adjusting their cars to meet the distinctive demands of this iconic track. Monza’s high-speed, low-downforce layout presents distinct challenges, necessitating notable car configuration.

Among the strategic maneuvers, it’s noteworthy that Ferrari, Red Bull, Williams, and Haas have all strategically engineered their vehicles. The teams emphasize achieving exceptional top-speed performance right from the inception of their designs.

One of the most surprising developments, however, emerges from Red Bull Racing. Renowned for their innovative strategies, the team seems to have made the fewest alterations to their car’s aerodynamics.  Max Verstappen’s car features an unchanged rear wing configuration compared to the previous race.

This unconventional decision reflects Red Bull’s unwavering confidence in the inherent aerodynamic excellence of their car. Their confident approach challenges the norm of making extensive Monza-specific modifications and sparks inquiries about how their performance will unfold at this iconic circuit. Their unchanged rear wing could be considered a hidden ace up the sleeve for the RB19.
