A recent clip of Max Verstappen steering his $3 million Aston Martin Valkyrie has gone viral, sending shockwaves across the F1 world. Verstappen is caught breaking rules on a French motorway, which might land him in hot water. The scandal has sparked widespread discussion regarding legal proceedings against the defending world champion. Helmut Marko, Red Bull Racing’s Motor Sport Advisor, has now spoken out on the event, expressing his thoughts.
A video shared on social media by Max Verstappen’s trainer, Mark Cox, has ignited controversy surrounding Verstappen’s actions while driving the Aston Martin Valkyrie on a French highway. The Dutchman was seen exceeding the 90 km/h speed limit in a tunnel, potentially facing legal consequences for this breach of French law. Additionally, he is captured removing his hand from the steering wheel to interact with the car’s onboard computer, raising concern about potentially ‘endangering the lives.’
Furthermore, Verstappen’s use of headphones covering both ears is also in violation of French regulations enacted in 2015. This combination of infractions has fans and critics speculating about the potential legal repercussions for the Dutch driver as they question his adherence to the French highway code.
As a potential lawsuit awaits Verstappen, Marko doesn’t seem overly concerned. When asked by the Austrian media OE24 about Verstappen’s fast driving in France, Marko remarked, “Max always has stories going on.” He added, “Hello! He’s 25 years old; it’s nothing special that you’re going too fast here and there.”
Max Verstappen is the fifth most successful driver at just 25 years of age

This incident has surfaced during a remarkable season for Verstappen, where he has won ten out of twelve races and is closing in on a third championship title. However, the potential legal consequences of the video could throw a wrench into his title ambitions. With only four races left before the Japan Grand Prix, where he could clinch the championship, any disruptions could open the door for his competitors.
Verstappen currently holds a commanding lead in the championship standings, with a 125-point advantage over his Red Bull teammate, Sergio Perez. However, should the Dutchman face legal issues and miss races, the title race could become wide open, with Perez, Fernando Alonso, and Lewis Hamilton potentially seizing the opportunity to challenge for the coveted championship.
As the Dutch GP falls upon us, Verstappen aims to win his third race in a row on his home track. The track will undoubtedly painted in orange, everyone cheering for their countryman, Max Verstappen. The F1 world awaits the outcome of his off-track adventures with his Aston Martin Valkyrie.
