A deep-sea vessel called Titan, with a crew of five individuals, embarked on a journey to explore the century-old wreckage of the Titanic. The vessel has unfortunately gone missing in the ocean’s depths. The submersible was crushed by an implosion, as confirmed by the United States Coast Guard, which initiated a search and rescue mission after losing contact with the Titan earlier this week.

The US Coast Guard has successfully located the Titan’s scattered remains, and ongoing evaluations are underway. Unfortunately, the operating company has confirmed the devastating loss of all five passengers. However, amidst this somber situation, Twitter, known for its dark humor, seized the opportunity to mock AlphaTauri driver Nyck de Vries.

The De Vries- debris similarity first became popular when Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz misheard the Dutchman’s name last year. At the 2022 Mexican GP practice session, Sainz hilariously mixed up the two names on the radio. Fans on social media, however, could not let that go quickly.

The tragic news of the Titanic submarine created waves on social media. Several users expressed their grief on the loss of the onboard passengers. Formula One Twitter, however, went down another route like this fan who posted the Nyck de Vries meme.

As usual, Twitterati jumped on this matter and expressed several different reactions. This user recognized the grim humor behind the Tweet and said, “This joke is so dark I almost didn’t see it.” A different user had the same opinion, Tweeting, “I FEEL SO BAD FOR LAUGHING.”

Nyck de Vries, however, has not been delivering performances in his rookie season. After a miracle run at Monza in 2022, De Vries has not been able to score a point in F1 yet. He is currently P19 in the drivers’ standings, with his teammate Yuki Tsunoda in P17 with 2 points.
