Helmut Marko the Red Bull team adviser has recently shed light on the performances of Sergio Perez and has indicated that the Mexican needs up his game in comparison to Max Verstappen.

Sergio Perez has been a bit off the pace in Hungary and has so far struggled to make a mark on the event, moreover, during qualifying, the 33-year-old was knocked out in Q2 which has become a cause of concern for the Red Bull team.

Helmut Marko knows how important it is to have both drivers firing on all cylinders and while discussing Perez has said, “He’s too far behind Verstappen at the moment. He was struggling in all of the practice, so we have to sit down with each other. The summer break hasn’t started yet, but he already seems in that mode.”

The 79-year-old has blatantly admitted to the shortcomings of Sergio Perez and feels that the Mexican is acting as if the summer break has already gotten underway, moreover, Marko wants to have a one-on-one talk about what’s happening with him.

After getting knocked out in Q2, Sergio Perez is all set to start today’s Grand Prix from P11 and it is certainly not where he or Red Bull would have envisioned him starting the race from.

Moreover, the team’s woes have doubled, due to an engine-related problem, Max Verstappen was not able to do fast laps during Q3 and, as a result, is going to start the race just ahead of Perez in P10.

Red Bull has got a big task on its hand in Hungary as it is one of those tracks on which overtaking is not an easy thing to do. While the Milton-Keynes team is starting in the midfield pack, their main rival Ferrari is at the top end of the grid.

Carlos and Charles are starting P2 and P3 and it is going to be an extremely tough challenge for the Red Bull duo to catch the Ferrari pair. Moreover, Red Bull has got quite a decent number of cars between them and Ferrari who certainly are not going to make it easy Perez and Co. to overtake them.
