Sebastian Vettel has recently shed light on losing the most wins in an F1 season record to Max Verstappen at the recently concluded Mexican GP and has indicated that he is not bothered about it, and wants him to go for 16 race wins.
Max Verstappen at the end of the Mexican GP became the outright holder of the most wins in a season record by amassing his 14th win of the season, which helped him in surpassing Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel.
The duo had won 13 races in separate seasons when they were in their prime and after witnessing Max become the outright holder, Vettel has applauded the 25-year-old by saying, ” I think he’s had a hell of a season, so hopefully, he gets 16 at the end of the year.”
Sebastian Vettel, being in F1 for several years, has had the opportunity of closely observing the Dutchman and after seeing his performances in 2022, he is not at all surprised with Max breaking his record.

While the former four-time World Champion has praised Max Verstappen for putting in stellar performances regularly this year, he has also taken the time to recognize the efforts that the Red Bull team has done in coming up with a competitive livery.
According to Vettel, the weight of the RB18 played a key role in Verstappen’s success as, despite the extra weight, the team managed to win races regularly.
Moreover, the 35-year-old has stressed that the weight disadvantage at Red Bull is now out, and they now have a serious livery at their disposal.
While stressing on the same, Vettel added, “So the car is there, but Max is doing an amazing job as well.“
Sebastian Vettel has showered both Max and Red Bull with praise for the amazing work that they have done this year, and considering the German wishes for Max to win 16 races in 2022, the Dutchman will go into the remaining two races extremely high on confidence.
