Charles Leclerc, the star boy Scuderia Ferrari is often associated with late racer Jules Bianchi. They were very close growing up and he was really affected by Bianchi’s unfortunate death. The incident took place in 2014 at the Japanese GP. He got himself into a huge crash and incurred some fatal injuries.

The Frenchman suffered a diffuse axonal injury and was taken to the nearby hospital for emergency surgery. After the surgery, Jules was in Coma for a long period, and on 17th July 2015 the Frenchman ultimately succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The Frenchman’s death was the first in the sport since Ayrton Senna‘s 1994 San Marino Grand Prix mishap.

It is believed by many in the F1 community that Jules Bianchi was Charles Leclerc’s “godfather.” Bianchi was Leclerc’s elder brother’s best friend and the trio back in the day used to hang together most of the time. This is where they all got close and developed a strong bond.

But There is not much info on how exactly Bianchi became Leclerc’s godfather, but it is believed that it all stemmed from the bond that Leclerc and Bianchi shared. Regardless, Leclerc never misses an opportunity pay tribute to his friend and has always reminded the F1 nation about him with multiple actions and projects.

Bianchi and Leclerc’s fathers were friends too and it was the main reason they got to know each other. Soon the former became friends with the latter and his brother. Their relationship grew from there to new heights.

I think it’s clear to the eyes of everyone who knows this sport: Jules had an exceptional talent. It’s also thanks to him I’m here today we grew up together. He was a few years older, my older brother’s best friend. Our fathers were best friends too.

The Leclerc family and Bianchi are still very close and cherishes the time their talented sons grew up together. Leclerc has never stopped reminding the paddock how good Bianchi was and it seems they would never stop as well.
