FIA has finally published their audit report for the 2021 season. As the rumours before suggested Aston Martin and Red Bull have breached the capped Budget. Rulings were conducted before the Japan GP and finally, the results of all the proceedings were released on the 10th of October. The results say the same, Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren, Alpine, AlphaTauri, Alfa Romeo, and Haas have stayed under the financial regulations. Aston Martin and Red Bull have been found guilty as per the results.
Red Bull did win the 2021 drivers championship and could have that under threat. But Aston Martin has astonished all the fans by spending over the budget just to make a so-called F1 car which works mostly like a ‘tractor’ as some fans mentioned. Aston Martin is performing so poorly this season, they are only managing to score points on their lucky days. Though Sebastian Vettel has been at the top of his performance to get Aston some points.
“The FIA Cost Cap Administration is currently determining the appropriate course of action to be taken under the Financial Regulations concerning Aston Martin and Red Bull and further information will be communicated in compliance with the Regulations,” official terms of the proceedings.
Fan Reactions to breached Aston Martin cost cap
Fans have been very comical with Aston Martin’s report. Though Red Bull did prove its worth by overspending, Aston just spent it to get wasted. Fans’ reactions to this have been full of humour.
Currently, there is scope for Max Verstappen and Red Bull to get some points out of their hands which could very much mean a loss in the title and Max’s championship. Aston Martin would still not be bothered and might just pass the punishment with some monetary penalty.
