‘How’s this Williams Sandwich Taste,’ Williams poke fun at Charles Leclerc as Nicholas Latifi tops a wet FP3 session

The results of the latest free practice session at the Hungaroring have got everyone in the Formula 1 world talking as Williams’ Nicholas Latifi took full advantage of the rain and clocked a sensational lap to lead the drivers’ table. And following close behind Latifi was his own teammate Alex Albon, who has just started out in Formula 1, and has already got the hang of his car. But Ferrari racer Charles Leclerc, who is on a mission of redemption in Hungary after he lost out on a guaranteed race win in France only a week ago, squeezed into the space between the two Williams and was place second in the FP3 session.

The rains have always made for some unusual results in any race, and it surely did not disappoint today at Hungaroring as it completely reversed the drivers’ table during FP3. While Nicholas Latifi, whose career in F1 is being heavily debated upon right now, had been laughing behind at the back of the grid for the majority of the Grands Prix in this season, noone expected him to clinch the top position in FP3 by putting up such a great performance!

The FP3 is the most crucial practice session as it is followed by the all-important Qualifying Session which will determine the starting grid for tomorrow’s race. If Latifi’s pace continues to be the same through the upcoming Qualifying Session, then the Formula 1 world should better be prepared as it will get another shock very soon.

The F1 media did not let go of the astonishing results of the FP3 as they lapped up all the memes and reactions that are being uploaded on social media regarding Latifi’s lead in the points table.

In fact, Williams’ own Twitter handle was quick to grab hold of the content to make a witty meme related to the FP3 points table. They made a cheeky reference to the great British Chef Gordon Ramsay who famously scolded one of his culinary students by calling him an “idiot sandwich”.

Putting in a slight wordplay to the famous phrase, Williams said, Charles Leclerc was in a “Williams sandwich” as he just squeezed between the two Williams and scored a second position in the FP3 session at Hungaroring.
