In October 2021, Morgan Riddler was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer. Throughout his fight with this condition, young Morgan became the force behind Morgan’s Army Charitable Foundation. This foundation supports families of children diagnosed with cancer in South Wales.
However, recently Morgan’s parents received the devastating news that their child’s treatment is proving to be ineffective. As a result, their focus has shifted towards prioritizing his quality of life, with palliative care becoming the main focus of attention. This also meant that Morgan would not be able to attend this year’s British Grand Prix.
Morgan’s parents, through a crowdfunding page, raised money to host a supercar event in Gorseinon, near Swansea, Wales. The Mercedes F1 team, too, was present in the array of cars brought to cheer up Morgan. The 3-year-old was also shown messages from Lewis Hamilton, Toto Wolff, and George Russell.

“This is absolutely class”– Fans unite in support of Mercedes for their remarkable gesture
After bringing their Formula One car to surprise 3-year-old Morgan, Twitter exploded with heartwarming messages for Mercedes F1. Often divided in opinions, F1 fans finally found something they could agree on. Fans saluted the Silver Arrows for such a wholesome attendance at the parade.
Several users expressed respect for Mercedes, “Well done, merc, that’s awesome of them,” said one user. Another user, too, echoed the same appreciation, “Cancer at such a young age! Props to the team for making the lil dude’s day.” One fan could not help but compare the team with former rivals Red Bull. “Red Bull would never,” they Tweeted.
Some users called it a Big ‘W’ for the Brackley team. “Absolute W from Merc,” they said while another Tweeted, “First time I’ll say it but a huge W to Merc there and everyone who organized this.” A different user called out Mercedes for not having Lewis Hamilton in the car. “If only lewis could have been there in the car for this darling little boy,” read their Tweet.
One very cheeky Twitter user recalled an incident when Mercedes were fooled by an individual pretending to have cancer for a factory visit. “Love this…. At the same time it reminds me what a disgraceful thing that centurion guy did last year scamming a factory visit by faking cancer,” they Tweeted.
