With new circuits making their way onto the F1 calendar, there is a lot of criticism from the fans. The old and iconic circuits are slowly being replaced to make way for new circuits. Stefano Domenicali further went on to emphasise that it isn’t just about money in this sport. The street circuit at Jeddah was recently added to the F1 grid.

Along with Jeddah, the Losail International circuit was also added. This year, we got to witness the inaugural Miami Grand Prix which Max Verstappen ended up winning after his battle with Charles Leclerc. From next year onwards, Formula one will race in Las Vegas. This means that there will be other circuits on the calendar that will probably be removed.

According to some rumours, Spa and Monaco seem to be the ones who are in grave danger of being off the calendar for next year. Both being extremely iconic circuits have a lot of history attached to them and any one of them going will not please the fans at all. Stefano Domenicali assured the critics that he intends to make F1 better. Here is what he had to say.

‘”We don’t just look at money” : Stefano Domenicali responds to critics

I am not selling the soul of Formula 1. Change is normal. Money is important everywhere, including for us. We don’t just look at money, the whole package has to be right. If we only looked at the bank account, the calendar would look very different,” Stefano Domenicali said.

With the current state of F1, it looks like they are hungrier than ever and are cutting out big deals with new circuits. For example, F1 agreed on a 10 year deal to race in Miami without even hosting a single race there. This gives me reason to believe that the organisation is willing to replace old circuits with boring new circuits just to increase their cash flow.
