“I don’t pay a lot of attention,” Max Verstappen not concerned about a possible Mercedes comeback at the French GP

Max Verstappen is leading the world championship in 2022 with 38 points over his nearest rival. He has had a season that started with down but reached a level of peak that marked nothing but Max’s pure dominance. Up till now, Max and Red Bull had a fight with their decade-old rival Ferrari, marking their comeback after a few seasons of struggling. With rumours all around regarding a Mercedes comeback in the French GP, Max Verstappen seems least concerned about another addition in the title battle.
Mercedes had an amazing 2021 season when they fought Red Bull and Max Verstappen head to head which ended up with Max’s defeating the silver arrows. The rivalry went very intense as the season came to an end. But Max successfully defeating the all-dominant Mercedes gives the 24-year-old confidence to do it twice if required. Mercedes are struggling with the regulations in 2022 but they have coped up a lot from the situation they were in the very first race. They hope for a comeback in or after France GP.
“Maybe they will. I hope not!” laughing said Max when asked about a possible Mercedes comeback.
“I don’t pay a lot of attention to that. More important to get the best out of ourselves because that’s not been as straightforward as I like,” said the Dutchman.
Max Verstappen gives a reply to a Mercedes comeback backed by Flexi floors

A new hot topic regarding Mercedes’s comeback refers to the Flexi floor regulations that might get Red Bull and Ferrari in trouble. With regulations coming into movement from Belgium GP we could see a possible silver arrow on the top of the podium.
Max, anyway, things Mercedes are to blamed the most if things are taken down to floors.
“Well, what I don’t quite understand, is that they’re complaining about the flexible floors while theirs is the most flexible,” said Verstappen.
Max is currently planning for a fight with Charles Leclerc and Ferrari as his direct rival. But with a Mercedes on the back, a three-way fight would bring back the craziness the sport saw last time around.
