Andretti has shown some interest in joining the sport after the viewership skyrocketed in the United States. Toto Wolff countering Mario spoke about the team’s individuality to become a part of the sport spending all its money to build a team. Domenicali took Toto’s back in the same speaking about having enough teams as of now to keep the sport entertaining.

Mario Andretti is trying his best to introduce Andretti motorsport in Formula 1 being a part of the sport in the past. Toto Wolff objected to Mario’s attempt to get as an individual team to which Mario attacked Toto saying he is “too strong”. Stefano Domenicali determined Mario’s statement to be true being Toto is an 8-time world champion and he has the power to speak whatever he has to.

Stefano’s defence to Mario’s statement was, “I do believe that Toto has a position of team principal, a position as a 33 per cent shareholder of Mercedes, he has a reputation of winning eight [constructors’ titles] in a row so his credibility, there is nothing to add,” said Domenicali.

Stefano Domenicali reckons to be pleased with the amount of team fighting for the title right now. Andretti bringing in the new team would hinder the equilibrium of the sport. As it is Porsche and Audi are on their way into the sport starting in 2026 but as engine suppliers for different teams.

“I have spoken with them quite often, as you would imagine, and we need to respect that while we may have differing opinions, at the end of the day it is a matter of following the protocol and for someone to make the final decision. Today, I don’t see a weakness in the number of teams in Formula 1. That is my opinion,” said the CEO of Formula 1.

Formula 1 currently is moving on the path of bringing in sustainable fuels for fewer carbon emissions. They plan to introduce new engine regulations starting in 2026, which would probably be the best season for Mario to try bringing him inside the sport.
