“I feel like drivers endorse the incoming driver that they think they can beat” – F1 world reacts to news of Kevin Magnussen welcoming Nico Hulkenberg’s potential move to Haas

Nico Hulkenberg

The Formula 1 transfer season so far has been pretty silly, but a lot of teams have confirmed their drivers for the next season leaving very few seats available. Out of these, Haas’ second seat is yet to be confirmed and many fans believe that the current holder Mick Schumacher will not be retaining it for next year.

Many believe that he will be replaced by Nico Hulkenberg who has been acting in the form of a reserve role this season. The 35-year-old German driver has massive experience in the field of F1 with 181 race starts recorded throughout the span of his career. The fans are excited at the possibility of seeing him race again and his experience could help win the team more points next year.

Haas’ driver Kevin Magnussen was seeing welcoming the potential move of the 35-year-old German driver to the team. This signifies that Schumacher may be out of a seat next season making way for Hulkenberg, but Giovinazzi also has a claim to the seat and it will be up to the management to choose the better driver for the next season.

F1 fans blow up on reddit on Nico Hulkenberg’s possible move to Haas

Nico Hulkenberg

With the possibility that Nico Hulkenberg will be moving to Haas and racing alongside Kevin Magnussen next season. The comments have been overwhelming to say the least and many have come out in support of the decision for Nico to go to Haas.

“Then he should endorse Giovinazzi because pre-2020 Hulkenberg was better than Magnussen but obviously impossible to tell where he’s at now” said one user who feels Magnussen has performed up to his standards this season despite having the most points in the team. While another user has commented, “I don’t understand the hate Hulk gets? What is going on, he is solid driver, perez, sainz kind of level. Why are people so low on him? He is not 56, he is 35. Alonso is better driver now at the age of 40+ than he was few years ago.”

There has been slight hatred for Magnussen among the users with comments such as, “Hulkenburg was better than Magnussen when he was in F1” and “What right does Magnussen even have in that? Haas must be stupid to do that. They trade young talent for someone who stepped thrice in a F1 car in the last 3 years. Kmag has also been worse than Mick for a while.”

The mixed reactions by the fans have been surprising to say the least but an announcement in a few weeks will shed light on the matter and a confirmed driver should be announced.
