New changes had been implemented by the FIA regarding the timings of the pre-race conference for the 20 drivers on the grid along with their 10 team principals. After a lot of voicing of displeasure by the drivers, the FIA came up with this change.

This is because since this season, the news conference has been held every Friday morning before a race. Since the FIA has moved the press conference back to the regular Thursday, not everyone will be addressed during it.

British Formula One commentator David Croft had a heartwarming message in store ahead of Lewis Hamilton’s home race in Silverstone. The exchange in question took place in the pre-race conference hosted by the FIA, along with the new changes implemented to the schedule.

7-time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton was accompanied by AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, Williams’ Nicholas Latifi and Alfa Romeo’s Zhou Guanyu in the pre-race conference in Silverstone. Here, he was greeted with questions from reputed SkySports F1 commentator David Croft.

Hamilton questioned Croft as to why he was in the press room. To that, Croft replied, “It’s allowed now. It’s a new look. Honestly, it’s not just because you’re here today. And I have missed you.” Hamilton concluded by affirming how he has never seen Croft in the press room over the years.
