“I think that helps communication,” Kevin Magnussen lays down the benefits of Haas’ residence in Maranello

Haas

The Haas F1 team made their entry in the sport in 2016, and since, the team has been in close relations with Scuderia Ferrari. They use Ferrari’s engine and many other parts that teams are allowed to share in Formula 1. The cars resemble each other so much that Haas have been dubbed the “white Ferrari” quite a couple of times.

The relationship between the two teams grew even more after Haas took their office in Maranello, Italy, where Ferrari previously had their HQ. Also, Simone Resta, a former Ferrari personnel, moved to Haas later. All of this happened when Kevin Magnussen was away from the sport, and now he states that the office in Maranello is benefitting the team a lot, which is due to better communication, etc.

According to Magnussen, the car this season has been showing the effect Haas has had after having their office in Italy, as they have been performing better than they ever have. He also said that the communications are not disrupted, most of the talks are done face-to-face, making major improvements.

“It’s a bigger group now in Maranello, I think that helps communication between the different departments, just being able to go and talk to each other,” PlanetF1 quoted Magnussen.

“And I think in terms of communication, it makes it easier when you can just go to a mate’s desk and have a chat.

“So, it’s better, and it’s also grown, and we have more people and it feels better. And, of course, the car shows that too. So it’s in a good place, Haas are pointing.”

Rivals question legality of Haas car

Seeing all the similarities between the two cars, rival teams have been questioning how legal the Haas is when compared with Ferrari.

“The relationship is also regulated by the FIA’s rules,” Guenther Steiner said earlier

“You cannot do more just because we are sitting in Maranello.”

FIA have not mandated any regulatory checks upon the car, and as far as now, there is nothing illegal about the Haas cars and both of them comply within the rules of the FIA.
