“I think there’s a real buzz,” Kevin Magnussen holds high expectations from Haas’ home race
Kevin Magnussen
Haas’ Kevin Magnussen has had an impressive run in Formula 1 ever since his return to the sport after being let go by his current employers in 2020. Haas’ Ferrari engine has worked wonders for American outfit as there has been no lack of pace on the track, and Kevin Magnussen has left no stones unturned to get every ounce of pace from that car. The Danish driver already has 15 points to his name which includes his best ever finish in Bahrain.
The Haas of Kevin Magnussen looked impressive in the wet at the Imola GP. But unfortunately for him, there wasn’t enough rain on the track during the sprint and the race. The 29 year old was absolutely flying during qualifying which helped him finish P4 during qualifying.
But the performance couldn’t not be replicated during the sprint which saw him finish P8. A result if asked to take before the weekend, Guenther Steiner would not have thought twice. We all expected rain to come pouring down during the race but sadly for Kevin Magnussen, nothing of that sort happened and he was able to only finish P9 and secured some more valuable points for the team.
Kevin Magnussen excited to take center stage in Haas’ home race of the season
We can safely that it was a decent weekend for the American team but one that could have been so much better after the kind of promise shown by the team during qualifying. Kevin Magnussen seems to have put that behind him as looks forward to Haas’ home race. Recently, he said, “I was also on holiday in Miami when this job came about again!“
“I’m looking forward to going back there, I think there’s a real buzz around the race, so it’s going to be great.”
Guenther Steiner also said, “It will be important to keep the focus on the racing, without getting too distracted by all the spectacle off the track,” as reported by gpblog.
Kevin Magnussen would love to build on the amazing start to the season after what was an abysmal end to the last one. More important, he would want to perform even better in front of Haas’ faithfuls.
