James Allison is hoping for a perfect weekend for Mercedes at Silverstone

The eight-time Constructors’ Championship winners have struggled to keep moving forward this campaign; according to Mercedes driver George Russell, each time they fix one issue, another one pops up. Though tentatively hopeful about their prospects at one of F1’s quickest circuits, Mercedes nevertheless fly back home to Silverstone.
“Everyone in our factory doesn’t dare say it but we are cautiously optimistic of having a more competitive weekend than some of those we’ve had of late. I think some characteristics of this circuit will suit this car but we don’t have a car capable of winning from the front yet,” said James Allison, the chief technical officer of Mercedes.
