Christian Danner suggested Mick Schumacher to level up his game if he wants to stick to the sports with a dream to look over the top teams. As of now, Mick Schumacher stands nowhere near the marginal line to be able to call off for the tier 1 teams, he has no points this season and has managed to crash his car twice this season costing the team more than a million twice.

Danner with Marc Surer on the Sport1 show, his Arrow’s teammate in 1986 under team boss Jackie Oliver, talked about their days in the team, making the same mistakes as Mick would have got them fired, said Danner.

“I would have been fired immediately,” said Danner, he also praised the 2020 formula 2 champion, “Mick is a good driver with Formula One qualities, but if you regularly wreck your car and are a second slower than your teammate, you are not attractive to the teams.” he concluded.

Christian Danner appreciated Gunther Steiner for his warning to Mick Schumacher

Haas F1 Team Principal Guenther Steiner

Danner marked Gunther’s decision as the right one, earlier this week Haas’ team principal told the 21-year-old driver to pull up his socks and to get his ride right for the rest of the races.

“The announcement to him was high time. The boss, to whom the driver delivers two total write-offs, will be allowed to say ‘My dear fellow, now stop crashing’. And he crashed all the time,” Danner said.

Mick has been later criticized a lot for his results throughout the season, he is the only driver to score no points other than William’s Nicholas Latifi, also for the crashes he has been through lately. But the Arrow teammates suggested the 21-year-old to stay calm on all the sides and perform as he should.

“It has to be calm on all sides. Also with those on Mick’s side who repeatedly criticise Haas and Steiner publicly.” said Danner.
