“I’m gonna go with Hamilton,” Damon Hill predicts a Mercedes win at the French Grand Prix

After a tough half season, Mercedes have been working hard to make their car competitive enough to score podiums and wins, and now it seems that they have the capability to win again, as Damon Hill said in the F1 Nation Podcast.
After the Austrian Grand Prix last week, it has become quite obvious that the Silver Arrows are returning with faster pace, and challenging the Ferraris and Red Bulls. And now as we wait for the French Grand Prix, Hill predicts that the team could be back with a 1 – 2 win.
Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc have been battling each other for the entirety of the season, and though for the Ferraris, it was hard to catch up with Red Bull earlier, now they have developed and upgrade their car enough to be at the same speed as both of the Bulls, and this has made the competition even tougher for Max Verstappen.
Now that Leclerc and Verstappen are fighting so close, it would be no surprise that the two drivers take each other out, given the style of driving that Verstappen has, and Hill predicts the same.

Damon Hill believes an incident could help Mercedes
Hill believes that the incident between the Ferrari and Red Bull can help Mercedes make a 1 – 2 win. “I’m gonna go with Lewis Hamilton,” GPBlog quoted him; “We’ve been talking about how well they’ve been getting on. I think that first corner is going to be a bit tricky. Let’s say Charles loses his front wing or Max gets a puncture or something like that
Maybe even on pure pace, the Mercedes springs a surprise because I think in race trim, Lewis has on occasion been very quick,” he concluded.
Although Hill thinks this could happen, but at the same time it cannot be denied that Leclerc and Verstappen have been battling very cleanly, leaving enough space for each other all of the time, and it is very unlikely for them to crash into each other.
