Lewis Hamilton has had an uncomfortable weekend.

Lewis Hamilton after an incredibly disappointing Austria Qualifying session has come and accepted his mistake that put him into the barriers during the Q3 session.

Lewis Hamilton was not the only driver who Mercedes driver who had a bad day at the office, George Russell also did not have the best of outing as the 23-year-old also went into the barriers immediately after Hamilton’s car was cleared off the track.

In pursuit of finding the extra speed to challenge the front row, both lost the rear of their car and went into the barriers. Hamilton is incredibly frustrated with his exploits and has apologized to the team for wrecking the W13.

The Brit while dwelling over the incident said, “I’m incredibly disappointed in myself ultimately, and I’m so sorry to the teameveryone worked so hard to put the car together and I never like to bring it back damaged.”

Hamilton is aware of how much work the team has done in the last few weeks to bring the car at least close to the level of Ferrari and Red Bull and feels that he should have taken more care during his Quali lap.

Hamilton further added, “We were fighting for the top-three I think and I don’t have an answer for it, I just lost the back end in turn 7 and that was that.”

Lewis Hamilton might have had a bad day today but his spirit has not died and is looking to get his elbows out during tomorrow’s Sprint Race and hopefully make up a few places for Sunday’s Grand Prix.

While talking about the Sprint Race said, “I’m encouraged for sure, of course after that performance, we weren’t expecting to be as close as that today, so that’s a huge positive from the team. I’m quite far back so I don’t know what’s possible from there but we’ve got the Sprint race as well, so tomorrow I hope we can make up some lost time.”

After looking at what the 37-year-old has said, it seems he has got his eyes set on the upcoming Sprint race, and given he is starting from P10, it will be fascinating to see how much of an impression the Mercedes driver is able to make during tomorrow’s Sprint race.
