The Red Bull F1 team has been in the headlines during the 2024 F1 season for all the wrong reasons. They already have a lot on their plate with the Christian Horner saga and the rumors surrounding Max Verstappen, and amidst all this, its team adviser, Helmut Marko, has now found himself in the firing line!!
As per the latest developments, it has come to light that Helmut Marko could face disciplinary actions in a fresh investigation that has been launched against him. Motorsport.com has been told that Marko is being investigated by Red Bull relating to various social media leaks.

Moreover, it has also come to light that Marko told Austrian broadcaster ORF that he could be suspended for the Australian race weekend. Seeing the noise around him, he was recently asked whether he could get suspended from the upcoming Monday, and as a response, he said, as reported by Motorsport:
I'll put it this way, it's difficult to judge, or let's put it this way, ultimately, I'll decide for myself what I do. The theoretical possibility always exists. I think it's such a complex issue. Again, we want peace in the team. This world championship will be difficult enough with 24 races and we have to concentrate on that.
Helmut Marko’s take on the prospect of Max Verstappen leaving Red Bull
While Helmut Marko has a sword hanging over his head because of the social media leaks investigation, he has taken the time to talk about Red Bull’s star driver, Max Verstappen. Marko and Verstappen share an extremely close bond.

The 26-year-old has several times in the past admitted that he will leave Red Bull if Marko is axed. While the latter’s future with the energy drinks team is hanging by a thread, it has come to light that Verstappen has a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave if the veteran is axed.
Marko understands the value that the Dutchman brings to Red Bull and while talking about him, he added, as reported by Motorsport:
Max is certainly the strongest asset that the team has. There is no faster driver at the moment and if we were to lose him, it would be an incredible loss.
The Marko-Verstappen combination has done wonders at Red Bull. One has to keep in mind that the former was one of the main figures behind bringing Verstappen into F1 at a relatively young age. The duo has been pivotal in the recent success of the team and thus, it will be a huge blow for the Austrian outfit if they were to lose both of them in the upcoming months.
