Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel might be arch rivals on the track but have presented a united front when it’s related to sparking more conversations to promote diversity in F1. It’s just not limited to these issues that these two drivers have raised their voice against. Whether it’s the Russia-Ukraine war or the ongoing jewelry issue, neither of them have held back to speak out their mind and express their disagreement.

We all know the struggle that Lewis Hamilton has had to go through in order to reach where he is at this point of his career. F1 has been a rich man’s sport for the longest time but it has slowly started to change after its popularity skyrocketed in the last few years. What this has meant that more drivers from across the globe are getting a chance to showcase their talent at the grandest stage of them all.

Even after reaching where he has reached, Lewis Hamilton has continued his fight for equality to ensure that no child with the same aspirations has to go through the inhumane treatment he had to. We have always heard him talk about him being more than a driver and he has always given meaning to his words with his actions. Sebastian Vettel has matched him stride for stride in this fight.

Both Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel have continued to speak out even after told by FIA’s President, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, not t do so.

Lewis Hamilton in an interview said, “I encourage all the drivers to be more outspoken and use their platform. It’s important that the sport continues to be a platform to spark more conversations.”

“On Mohammed, it’s a huge role and big shoes to fill. There are lots of things he wants to do and change.”

Sebastian Vettel added: “It is important to express and mention [these topics], raise awareness, making people aware there are lots of things we can improve on,” as reported by bbc.

Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton are veterans of the sport and understand the ins and outs of F1. Therefor it’s pleasing as a viewer to stand up for the right thing despite being at crosshairs with the FIA.
