Alex Albon
Alex Albon has recently signed a multi-year deal with the Williams Formula One team, and ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, has delved deep into how the 2022 F1 season has panned out for the team so far.
Alex Albon has revealed that during the initial phase of the season, the team was focusing more on the infrastructure than the car and how it was a frustrating experience for him.
The 2022 F1 season has marked the dawn of new regulations in the sport that have brought the concept of a budget cap into F1, and it has made all the teams do a balancing act throughout the season so that they are able to stay within the set limit.
Moreover, Williams is a team that is looking to get back up on the grid from scratch, and in their bid of doing so, has to look after many things at once.
The Wantage-based team’s Thai-British driver while talking about the team’s strategy during the initial phase of the season said, “We started off in Barcelona and Bahrain winter testing and it was clear that we were a little bit on the back foot with just the way that we had to invest and focus on this year, and the team was investing slightly more in infrastructure and things like that, rather than the car itself, so it wasn’t enjoyable.”

Alex Albon believes Williams is growing as a team with each race
The Williams Formula One team, after 16 rounds, is plumb last in the Constructors Championship with only 6 points to its name, however, Alex Albon ardently feels that his team is on the rise and is getting better with every race.
While stressing about the same, Albon added, “The first few races, we obviously had moments where we were okay but as you can see, throughout the year, we’ve made some great steps forward with this new package.”
“We’ve been very good at optimizing the car with strategy in qualifying and we may score points in tricky circumstances. So yeah, it’s going well.”
The 26-year-old is enjoying his time on the British team and believes that the team is doing a fine job with the resources at its disposal, moreover, thinks that the team has been extremely efficient and that he is hopeful of scoring a few more points in the remaining races of the season.
