“It will be coming next week,” Guenther Steiner hints as Haas F1 team has choosen it’s driver for 2023

Guenther Steiner
It has been a crazy frenzy this season for Haas F1 team. Guenther Steiner has gone on to give us a small hint on the driver announcement dates. Kevin Magnussen has been on a roll this season after coming back to F1 to replace outgoing driver Nikita Mazepin. After his comeback, the Danish driver has gone on to score some crucial points for the team during the season.
Apart from that, the driver achieved a shock pole during a qualifying session in mixed conditions in Brazil GP. With a long term contract in place for Kevin Magnussen, he hasn’t had to worry about losing his seat at all. Mick Schumacher on the other hand has a lot to worry about since his F1 stint might come to an end after these last two races.
Team boss Guenther Steiner confirmed that the 2023 Haas lineup has already been decided with just the formal confirmation left to be initiated. Meanwhile, when it comes to knowing the actual date of the driver announcement, we’re looking at Tuesday next week. Haas will be revealing the news according to info from Motorsport-Total. Media hub Swiss Blick has reported that the team approached Nico Hulkenberg.
Guenther Steiner has already decided the 2023 Haas lineup

According to various reports, it has been confirmed that the driver partnering Kevin Magnussen next year will be another fellow German called Nico Hulkenberg. Rumours of the German joining the team have been flaring around for a long time now but are all set to be true as Haas has gone for a more ‘experienced’ driver lineup for the 2023 F1 season. Mick Schumacher didn’t seem like a good choice for the team in the long run so their decision seems rational.
Team boss Guenther Steiner went on to talk about the contract situation at Haas right now. “We are just sorting out details, how are we going to do [it], what we are going to do,” he said. “Expect the announcement sometime next week,” Steiner added. “I’m not telling you a day because then everybody will be waiting for that day. It will be coming next week,” he continued.
It is disappointing news for Schumacher fans who wanted to see the driver flourish in the sport that his dad made a name in. With a series of crashes over the season, the German has been costing the team a lot in damages which isn’t feasible for them. While fans are a bit rigid about the decision that Haas is about to announce, they should also consider the situation that Mick has created for himself while at Haas. However this surely isn’t the end of his career in F1.
