The sixth round of the 2022 season will take place in Barcelona, Spain, and Ferrari has some great upgrades lined up for its drivers as their reliability program reportedly ended with the Miami GP, where they finished with a 2-3 of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

Carlos Sainz has arrived in Spain, his home, more than a week earlier for his home race. And during one of the public appearances in Madrid during a karting event, the Ferrari driver spoke about his excitement for the home race and the desire for his first win ever to come in Spain, in front of the home crowd.

Sainz said“Winning? It would be unique, because it would be the first and it would be at home, for that I work every day and I try to get there as soon as possible. The fans will want it, but the one who wants the most is me.”

The home GP is special for every driver. The support from the crowd plays a vital role in every sport on the planet, and as Sainz said, “every little bit they do is noticeable,” which sums up the necessity of fans, especially at home.

Sainz has been racing in F1 for over 7 years now and is yet to win a race in his career. Having expressed his desire to finish on top here, he wants the home crowd to support him as they did to Fernando Alonso a decade back.

Sharing his wish for home support, Carlos said, “That they support me as much as they can, because every little bit they do is noticeable from the car… This year, when there is a car for the podium, they will try to win. I remember going to the Spanish GP in 2005 and 2006, with the grandstands full when Fernando was winning races.”

With Ferrari’s F1-75, Sainz does probably have the best shot of his career for a race win. He had a good weekend in Miami after two terrible ones in Australia and Italy. But building on his comeback and new upgrades, Sainz has altogether more reasons to grab a win and that too, a grand one.
