Lewis Hamilton managed a top three in both the Free Practice on the British Friday, he showed brilliant pace through the fast corners in Silverstone making the Mercedes W13 come alive. But he still wasn’t completely filled with pleasure driving his car as the car still bounced on the corners.

For a few instances, the 7-time world champion found himself on the top in both the FP’s but didn’t last much longer, he was beaten by the Ferrari power unit. Even though he didn’t end up at the top he wished to be there on the main day, that is if the car doesn’t bounce much and stayed the way it is.

“P2 was good. It’s bouncing still, quite a bit. Not on the straight necessarily but through the corners it’s harsh. Not physically harsh but just in the car. On the tyres and everything. There is still work to do but it feels like a small set forward,” said Hamilton after concluding Friday’s session.

FP1 in Silverstone went through wet conditions with a chaotic result at the end, but it wasn’t the whole track that saw rain. Turn 6-7 and Turn 9 were a few corners being full wets and the rest is completely dry.

Hamilton also pointed out the unusual weather, “It has been a good day. I wish we had more running in P1, but that beautiful weather here at Silverstone makes it so special because it can be raining on one corner and dry elsewhere. It was just wet at 6/7 and into 9,”

George didn’t have a very impressive start to the weekend but hopes to make the comeback on the main day, with Mercedes coming out with its best performance Ferrari and Red Bull are the main winning contentions teams for the 2022 British Grand Prix.
