Yuki Tsunoda, during the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix, is going to race around the super fast Suzuka International Racing Course, and ahead of his home GP has indicated that he is very excited about the upcoming three-day extravaganza.
Yuki Tsunoda has previously raced at the Suzuka Circuit during his Formula 4 days, however, the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix is going to be his first-ever race at Suzuka in an F1 car.
Pierre Gasly, the other AlphaTauri driver is also in a buoyant mood ahead of the race and has indicated that there is a lot of potential in the AT03 waiting to be unleashed at Suzuka. While talking about it, Gasly added, “Especially the first sector with all the quick corners and it’s definitely one of my top three favorite tracks.“

Moreover, Red Bull and Honda have recently extended their ties for a few more years in F1, and Gasly has thus reminisced the good times that he has had with a honda engine in the back of his car in the previous years while shedding light on it, he adds, “I was with Honda at the start of their latest period in F1, and even before then as I was racing with them for my season in Super Formula.“
“I get a lot of motivating support from Japan and it was a real shame we were not able to race there for the past couple of years“
Yuki Tsunoda is entering his first F1 home race this weekend

Yuki Tsunoda got his first taste of F1 last year when he was promoted to the AlphaTauri team, but, because of many reasons, the Japanese Grand Prix was not on the 2021 calendar.
However, the race is finally back on the calendar and Tsunoda is extremely excited about racing in front of his home fans. While talking about it Tsunoda said, “In one way, Japan is just another race, but in another, it is one I have been looking forward to ever since I started in F1.”
While Tsunoda has raced on the circuit previously, he has admitted that the track has changed a bit as per the simulator work he did ahead of the upcoming event and said, “Actually because you have so much more downforce, I think you are on the throttle for more of the lap in a Formula 1 car than in Formula 4. The view of the track changes completely and it’s like a whole new track.”

He further adds, “I know there will be a lot of interest from the fans for this race. I can’t imagine what it will be like, so it will be very different from every other race weekend, but I am looking forward to enjoying a new experience.“
Many of my friends and family will be coming to Suzuka and I know that even those for whom I couldn’t get passes have bought tickets. And a very important final point, I get to eat Japanese food for a whole week!“

Yuki Tsunoda is really looking forward to the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix and is happy that he would be able to showcase his skills as an F1 driver, in front of his home fans for the very first time.
The 23-year-old has recently signed a new contract with the AlphaTauri F1 team and considering, his F1 future is secure, he is going to do everything in his power to put on a show that would be worth remembering for his home fans.
