Max Verstappen has been on an incredibly dominant run during the 2023 F1 season and has pretty much operated in a league of his own. None of the other drivers have been able to pose a challenge to him, and amidst his ever-growing influence over the sport, the former F1 driver Jacques Villeneuve has applauded the Dutchman.

The ongoing campaign is 14 rounds down, and Red Bull has won all the Grand Prix events, barring round six, which was canceled. While Sergio Perez has only managed two victories this year, Max Verstappen is currently on an impressive nine-consecutive win streak at the pinnacle of motor racing.

Jacques Villeneuve is in awe of what the Dutchman has achieved so far, and while talking about him, he said, as reported by racingnews365, “What does it matter if it’s good for the sport? He’s doing great, that’s it. You shouldn’t stop that. He manages to ride better than anyone! Verstappen works so well with his engineer that he makes a car a kind of ‘second skin’ of him.”

When you have that, you just sit in the car, you don’t think and you just do exactly what you want with it. That’s why Perez has thought in recent years: ‘I can beat Max’, but Max works better with the car and what the car does for him. Then he demolishes Perez. That makes the difference.”

Max Verstappen will have the chance of breaking his and Sebastian Vettel’s record at the Italian GP

While Max Verstappen equaled Sebastian Vettel‘s record after winning the recently concluded Dutch GP, he will have the golden chance of becoming the outright record holder at this week’s race at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza F1 circuit. The track supports fast racing and should nicely help Verstappen in putting the RB19 through the absolute wringer.

The 25-year-old has a firm grip over the first place in the Drivers Championship, and seeing his 2023s dominance, he is once again going to be the favorite to set alight the 5.793 km circuit in Italy. He is in sensational form, and it seems unlikely that anyone would be able to halt his charge anytime soon.

However, the Monza F1 circuit, over the years, has developed a knack for producing unexpected results; if something similar were to happen again, it could lead to bringing an end to Max Verstappen’s dominant 2023 run. Red Bull would need to be on it from the get-go at the event, as the Tifosi will do everything in their power to make life a bit difficult for them.
