Moments into the Japanese Grand Prix, it has already been a race filled with drama in the starting lap itself. As the racers started their run on the Suzuka International Racing Circuit, the first massive incident occured as Fernando Alonso‘s Alpine collided with Sebastian Vettel‘s Aston Martin. The impact caused the retiring racer to go off the racetrack and into the gravel, causing his to complain about Alonso’s driving, but later it was seen in the footage that Vettel was the one who had turned into the two-time World Champion’s car.
While fans were still recovering from the accident involving Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso, it was Carlos Sainz who became the talk of the F1 town next. The Ferrari racer, who proved to be their hope in the FP2 session as his teammate Charles Leclerc could not even break into top 10, was thrown off the track due to a heavy crash in the starting lap. While going along the Spoon curve, the #55 racer lost control of his Ferrari F1-75 and went straight for the wall.
The weather has been quite unpredictable for the entirety of the Japanese Grand Prix weekend, and it took a turn for the worse during the Main Race. As the racers files into their starting grid positions amidst the rain, fans were expecting quite a few incidents at the beginning itself, and Suzuka did not disappoint them.

The Suzuka International Racing Circuit is one of the toughest racetracks on the calendar, and it is a favorite of many, because of its twists and turns. And paired with wet conditions, the circuit proved to be a massive challenge for all the drivers. Still, the race started off according to the schedule, and the first ones to come across any trouble were Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso. They were followed by Carlos Sainz, who put up a brilliant performance in yesterday’s qualifying and proceeded to start from the second row today. The Spaniard’s crash resulted in a safety car, and the red flag was also called eventually. And as of now, a restart has been suspended to ensure driver safety amidst the terrible weather conditions.

This comes as a disappointment to the Spaniard who previously expressed his regret at always coming short in the Qualifying, as compared to title rivals Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc.
