Jenson Button added the level of performance Perez would have to present on track to match the likes of Max Verstappen, on regular basis. Max Verstappen has won 24 races and stood 65 times on the podium. He has been the second-best racer the Austrian team has come across, for some he is the best. Sergio has only managed 2 wins with the team now, he has been outstanding with the car but is still not on the level of Max in the same car.

Perez was on the headlines after winning the streets of Monaco, he also has been gifted with a two-year contract addition. But if he is targeting the championship being beside the 24-year-old, he needs to show the same performance he presented in Monaco.

“I think Max is very sure of himself and he knows how talented he is. It was a great weekend for Checo but it needs to be continually happening. This is the second race win with Red Bull – you just look at how many Max has had.” said Button.

The 2009 world champion said he is quite excited to see Max and Perez fight wheel to wheel for the champion and it would be great to see them continue in the same manner ahead. “He’s still very confident that he can do the job at every single race weekend but with the added confidence of Checo, hopefully, it will bring him a lot closer to Max and we will see them going wheel to wheel a bit more.” reported GP FANS.

Red Bull is now on the top of both the Championship table, with people expecting Charles to become a worthy full fighter for the championship this season, he is now being accompanied by Perez for the same.
