Max Verstappen, the reigning F1 world champion, operated on a whole new level during the 2023 F1 season. He scored victories for fun but while the sport is currently at a halt, F1 pundit, Karun Chandok has revealed that Jos Verstappen told him in Qatar that his son was extremely furious after this year’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Jos Verstappen had a chat with Karun Chandok, after the Qatar GP, and at that moment, the former admitted that Max Verstappen was not at all pleased seeing Sergio Perez win the 51-lap Azerbaijan event. Moreover, he has admitted that the 26-year-old made a vow after the event to never lose to his teammate again during the remainder of the 2023 F1 season.
Karun Chandok recently shed light on the same, and said via Sky Sports;
I saw Max's dad, Jos Verstappen in Qatar and we were chatting about the season, then he said to me Max was furious after Baku when he came home, he said to his dad I am not going to get beaten by him ever again this season. He was absolutely livid and said he will not beat me again.
Karun Chandhok says Jos told him that Max Verstappen was furious after losing to Sergio Perez in Baku & told his dad: "I am not going to get beaten by him ever again this season."

Looking at the reaction of Jos, it is quite easy to understand how angry the 3-time world champion was after the fourth round of the 2023 F1 season. The Baku defeat just did not sit well with Verstappen and after that, he switched a flip in him and never lost a race to him again this year.
Max Verstappen secured nineteen Grand Prix wins in 2023
While Max Verstappen did not lose to Sergio Perez after the Azerbaijan GP, in the process of doing so, the former wracked up a highly impressive nineteen grand Prix wins by the end of the 2023 F1 season. After Baku, Verstappen won all the races except the event at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Verstappen proved to be a huge menace behind the wheel of the mighty RB19 this year and his teammate, despite having the same weaponry underneath him, just was not able to keep up with the raw pace and the consistency that the Dutchman was able to showcase pretty much throughout the campaign.

Max Verstappen is currently the hottest property at the pinnacle of motor racing, with him, having secured three titles back to back. Moreover, keeping in view that the current set of regulations will stay in play until the end of 2025, he has every chance of wracking up at least two more world titles.
