Christian Horner gives his thoughts on possible Max Verstappen exit amidst the turmoil
Amidst all the turmoil and struggles that are taking place at Red Bull due to the civil war inside the team’s hierarchy and management, team principal Christian Horner was asked about the possible exit of three-time World Champion Max Verstappen. If it happens due to power struggle, it will turn out to be a red mark in Horner and Red Bull’s history forever. Horner is open to Verstappen leaving the team, but doesn’t sees it happening as he has complete faith in the Dutchman’s commitment.
It’s like anything in life, you can’t force somebody to be somewhere just because of a piece of paper, if somebody didn’t want to be at this team, then we’re not going to force somebody against their will to be here...He’s been here since he was 18 years of age. And I have no doubt of his commitment and passion going forward. But that’s the way it is.– Christian Horner during a press conferecne
The managerial troubles and perception of the entire saga continues to change every week. Red Bull has to solve the issue soon and should be more transparent about it as it isn’t just hurting the team but is also affecting the whole sport as well.
