‘Just how fast the night changes’: F1 Twitter was sent into a frenzy after Lewis Hamilton shares his video of playing video games over the years
Lewis Hamilton playing video game
Lewis Hamilton, a 37-year-old Mercedes driver has seen his struggles over the years. From dominating the sport since he was a child to dominating it at the top level, Lewis has come a long way. But over the years one thing he has shown that is similar to an adult is his love for video games.
Lewis Hamilton can be seen playing Ayrton Senna’s Super Monaco GP2 just before the Canadian GP. The 37-year-old went down to Quebec province city and came away with a Sega Genesis console with the game that was released in 1992 when Hamilton was only a seven-year-old kid.
Hamilton himself opens up with his will to play video games, “I landed in Montreal and went straight to a retro game shop. Got me a Sega Genesis and of course, Ayrton Senna’s Super Monaco GP II. I loved this game as a kid and still do now. Still holds up! Naturally, I got super-competitive with myself. My personal best right now is a 49-second lap, pretty sure I can beat that tho. That was only after a few tries. I’ll let you all know when I beat it,” said Lewis.
Lewis Hamilton’s struggling first half of the 2022 season
Lewis Hamilton ended the 2021 season on a very depressing note after losing out on his eighth title in a very controversial way. He started off 2022 on a similar note with Mercedes struggling to get on the top after issues with porpoising. They ended the season as the best team but started the season being the third fastest.
Lewis had hoped for an eighth and record-breaking title after not getting it last year. But without the similar pace, it was impossible for Lewis to beat a top-form Max Verstappen with a fast car this season. Not only did he have Max to chase but Charles Leclerc with Ferrari being the fastest and his new teammate George Russell was also around to target him.
But last few races things have changed quite a bit with Lewis finishing on the podium last 5 races straight. Coming back in form Hamilton has finished off the last few races before the break on a good note and expects to fight on the top after the break.
