Lando Norris admits these are ‘difficult times’ for McLaren, but pledges to stay with the papaya squad
Lando Norris plans to continue with McLaren
Lando Norris assures that in spite of the thick and thins he had with McLaren; he still wants to continue with the team. The British born driver admits that there have been moments where he wanted to join a better team but his heart lies with McLaren.
McLaren hadn’t had a great start this season but slowly and steadily with better upgrades, they have improved drastically, in fact they have been overtaking – Ferrari, Aston Martin and Mercedes and believe to be one upgrade behind Red Bull.
It’s a noted fact that Lando Norris is a senior driver now at McLaren. With Daniel Riccardo being replaced with the young 22-year-old driver – Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris, now being senior, dominates McLaren. The Brit has a long-term contract signed with the team and plans his yet to win world championship with McLaren.
After McLaren’s upgrade on the MCL60, the team has been performing tremendously well. Norris qualified 4th in Austria , 2nd in Silverstone and 3rd in Hungary and similar has been the case with his teammate who also shows improved performance.
When asked about his juxtaposition to stay with the team, Lando Norris says, “There were frustrating times and just difficult times but at no point did I think this is not where I want to be.” He believes that they were late with the upgrades but the relief has superseded all now that they have been winning P2 and P3’s consistently.

Will Lando Norris move over to Red Bull?
The rumours recently have indicated that Red Bull is interested in switching Sergio Perez with Lando Norris. Checo’s poor performance has prompted Red Bull to start scouting for new talents and Norris emerges as a top contender.
With the current dominance that Red Bull ascertains over the sport, it is but natural that any driver would gladly accept the opportunity to drive for the team. But with Lando Norris’s long-term contract with McLaren and the present statement given, it doesn’t seem that the British Driver is interested in moving on to any other team.
Currently, Norris stands at eight position, preceding Carlos Sainz of Ferrari. But with the new upgrades, we are bound to expect immense growth spurt in the scores. Norris stands firmly on his stance of staying with McLaren and fans hope that this loyalty soon yields Norris his first world championship.
