McLaren have built up the ultimate power pair for their team with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Ever since Carlos Sainz left the papaya army for Ferrari, they had been looking for the perfect fit for Norris. And that is how they chanced upon Daniel Ricciardo. The Aussie racer had great camaraderie with Norris, and the two of them was seen having fun at the paddocks during most race weekends. However, McLaren deemed Ricciardo’s results unsatisfactory and they prematurely terminated his contract to take up Oscar Piastri.

Now that Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have established a good rapport, it is not like Norris has forgotten his former teammate. Thus, during the season break post the 2023 campaign, the British-Belgian racer decided to pay the Honey Badger a visit. It happened right after Lando returned from his tour to Bali, Indonesia with internationally acclaimed DJ Martin Garrix. He spontaneously planned a short trip to Perth where Daniel Ricciardo lives.

While speaking on The Fast and the Curious podcast, Lando Norris talked about his visit to Australia to meet with Daniel Ricciardo, and he also spoke of the things they did together.

I traveled a fair bit. I went to see Daniel out in Perth. It was a bit of a spontaneous move. Not romantic anyway, but just, I’m saying like, it wasn’t planned. My car’s my only love. and my mom and my sisters and my brother and my dad.

Lando Norris detailed all the things him and Daniel Ricciardo were up to during winter

Lando Norris has been traveling non-stop during the F1 winter break as he first went to Indonesia, and then visited Daniel Ricciardo. Upon meeting up, the former teammates apparently did ‘some gym and training’ together. This is quite unsurprising as Daniel Ricciardo had formerly claimed he is a big adrenaline junkie and some physical sports.

While speaking of the activities Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo undertook during the winter break, the young racer also revealed they did something which he was probably not allowed to do.

I probably shouldn’t say that because I don’t think I was allowed to do it, but a little bit of motocross.

In other news, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have both claimed they are ready to take on the big names in the upcoming 2024 F1 campaign. In the last few years, McLaren have improved by leaps and bounds, and it is only expected that the MCL-38 released by the Working outfit will finally give Norris his deserved Grand Prix win and Oscar Piastri might also stand to win a race this year.
