For Lando Norris Gil de Ferran was more than just a mentor and team manager.

Ahead of the 2024 preseason testing, Lando Norris made a heartfelt tribute to the late Motorsports legend Gil de Ferran. He was a dear friend and mentor to Norris. Gil de Ferran passed away on December 29th, 2023 at the age of 56. He was working with McLaren at the time as an advisor. He worked with the team from 2018 to 2021 as Sporting director before taking two a year break. The French-Brazilian has won two Champ Car championships and the Iconic Indy500. de Ferran has been a significant person for Norris as a mentor and as a manager.

The British driver said that both of them used to share good moments.

Lando Norris has set his goals for 2024 season
The 2024 Formula One that will make up the grid was unveiled by the Formula One world. Conversely, Lando Norris Speaking at the launch of McLaren’s 2024 challenger the MCL38 has publicly discussed his season-ending reflections and his goals for the next one.

Lando Norris’s outstanding 2023 season was marred by costly mistakes in the qualifying rounds of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Brazil, and Qatar. Norris expressed how frustrated he was with how many mistakes he committed. Norris said his main objective going into the off-season was to heal and put in a lot of effort to stop making these errors.
The 24-year-old asserted that they would be competitive and defeat the Red Bulls. Norris also said that they were even able to challenge the Austrians late in the season last year. But the British man doubted that they could defeat them during the 2024 season.
