Lando Norris makes SHOCKING claim about Oscar Piastri, says the rookie is ‘not a team player’

The 2023 Formula One season is nine rounds down, and Lando Norris has made a surprising revelation about his teammate. According to him, he is more of a team player than his new teammate, Oscar Piastri. Norris ardently feels he looks after the team way more than his Australian teammate.
Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are pairing up together for the first time at the pinnacle of motor racing, and while the former has had several years in the sport, Piastri is in his first full season in F1. Before 2023, he was doing his duties as a reserve driver for the Otmar Szafnauer-led Alpine F1 team.
The 23-year-old is well known in the Formula One paddock for being brutally honest, and while talking about the antics of Oscar Piastri, he said, “I’m a team player obviously because that’s why I think Oscar doesn’t. Oscar just thinks of putting it on pole or something, whereas I think of the team.”
Looking at the comments of Norris, it is hard to say how much of what he said is genuinely what he feels about his teammate and how much of it was just for the sake of the camera. Norris has a knack for playing with his words in front of a camera, and it really can’t be said for sure as to how much of what he said he meant.

Lando Norris needs a competitive car from McLaren F1
Lando Norris is undoubtedly one of the most prolific drivers on the current Formula One grid; there are only a handful of drivers who are at the level of the young Brit. However, despite his prolific racing skills, he is currently out of the Top 10 in the 2023 Drivers Championship. The MCL60 is just not at par with the other top midfield teams.
Norris does not have a potent car underneath him this year, and it is because of this reason that he is currently P11 in the Drivers Championship with only 12 points to his name. His teammate, Oscar Piastri, on the other hand, has struggled quite a bit and has only contributed 5 points in the season so far.
McLaren is a historic team at the pinnacle of motor racing that has amassed a lot of success in the past years. The situation at the moment is quite dire but if the team can improve its car step by step in the upcoming races, then there is every chance of Lando Norris doing something special for the team in 2023.
