The 2023 Las Vegas GP was in the headlines last year for varied reasons. From all the additional antics around the event to a highly entertaining race, the event was a huge success. However, despite all the positivity, the event was also in the limelight for the prices of the tickets.
The cheapest ticket during the 2023 event cost a hefty $500, and the fans were not at all pleased with this. There was a huge uproar from fans around the ticket prices and considering that, the event organizers have decided to roll out cheaper tickets during the 2024 Las Vegas GP.
F1 Las Vegas CEO, Renee Wilm, while addressing the same in an interview with CNBC said, as reported by Sports Business Journal:
We’re going to be making a significantly higher number of GA tickets available with a brand-new GA zone to accommodate the greater number of fans who want to participate at different price points. we heard that feedback (on ticket prices) and learned a lot going into Year No. 1 and are looking forward to creating opportunities for more fans to participate in the race weekend.
Looking at the reaction of Wilm, it seems that the 2024 Las Vegas GP will see some cheaper tickets for the fans to purchase. Moreover, the CEO has claimed that they have learned a lot from the inaugural event and thus, are going to do everything in their power to make the event more accessible to the people.
The 2023 Las Vegas GP was an incredibly entertaining event
While the 2023 Las Vegas GP was bashed by a section of fans for its over-the-top prices, the event overall, was an extremely successful one. Moreover, the on-track action during the race was one of the best during the whole season.
During the 50-lap Las Vegas GP, the lead of the race was switched between three drivers. This is something, that was not seen on many of the other tracks because of Red Bull’s dominance. However, around the Las Vegas strip, the lights of Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, and Charles Leclerc, were all seen tussling to secure the victory in the inaugural event.
