Legendary racer Emerson Fittipaldi’s grandson Enzo moves closer to securing a Red Bull F1 seat

Enzo Fittipaldi, the grandson of the racing legend Emerson Fittipaldi has been driving for Red Bull in the Formula 2 Championship. He has performed extremely well in F2 till now, and has already caught the eyes of the Austrian team’s Chief Advisor–Dr. Helmut Marko.

Enzo is the scion of the famous Brazilian racing family headed by the two-time World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi. He used to drive for Team Lotus during his tenure in Formula 1. He won his first World Championship at the age of 25 in 1972 with Team Lotus.

Emerson Fittipaldi rose to fame from Formula 2, and it seems like his grandson is following in his footsteps. Enzo Fittipaldi who is only 22 right now, is currently competing in Formula 2 with team Carlin. He got elected as a member of Red Bull Junior team in November of 2022.

Enzo is sure that opportunities will knock at his door soon as a result of the success he is encompassing in Formula 2.  In a recent interview, Enzo Fittipaldi said, “When you are in F2, performing is the first step, so as long as I continue with this momentum into the next few race weekends, who knows what could happen.”

The young Fittipaldi is in awe of Max Verstappen and the Red Bull. He believes that Red Bull is the greatest team of all time and could not stop appreciating just how fast their car is. It is clear Enzo looks up to Red Bull and is passionate about driving for it.

Enzo Fittipaldi’s racing heritage

Enzo Fittipaldi comes from a family of racing drivers. Starting with his grandfather – Emerson Fittipaldi who was named after Ralph Waldo Emerson and has won the world championship at 25 years of age.

His brother, Pietro Fittipaldi races in FIA World Endurance Championship and is also a reserve driver for formula 1 team – Haas. Pietro made his debut in formula 1 in 2022 when he replaced Roman Grosjean who was injured in the Sakhir Grand Prix.

He is also the cousin of Christian Fittipaldi, who used to drive in formula 1 for Minardi team before moving on to NASCAR. Christian Fittipaldi was very famous in the 1990s and has made significant contributions in the area of automobile racing.

Thus, Enzo Fittipaldi comes from a lineage of great racing drivers and is expected to leave his mark on the sport. Seeing his performance in formula 2, one cannot deny that he has talent and with Red Bull currently scouting for a new driver, there is high chance, Enzo gets presented with this prestigious opportunity.
