Seven time World Champion, Lewis Hamilton took to Instagram to show his support for tennis superstar Serena Williams after her win against Anett Kontaveit at the US open.
The two athletes shoulder immense respect for each other and have shown it over the years. The pair are also part of a bid to buy reputed Premier league team ‘Chelsea’ and have each put down a bid of 13 million dollars. The decision to sell the team was made by Roman Abramovich after his native Russia invaded Ukraine, bringing down sanctions upon him by the European Union.
She has openly shown her immense respect for Lewis Hamilton and named as one the three GOATs in all of sport right now. The support has been returned, with the seven time World Champion openly supporting her in all her matches and showing his utmost respect for her. The 40 year old tennis superstar is all set to retire at the end of this season and has announced these to be her last few matches in the sport.
Should Lewis Hamilton give up hopes for an 8th championship title?
The 2022 F1 season has been a disastrous one for a team like Mercedes and especially its 7 time championship winning driver Lewis Hamilton. The season has been rocky for the team as they have been unable to produce a car that can battle with the top teams such as Ferrari and Red-Bull.
Lewis’ hopes for an 8th world title and looks forward to the challenge, in an interview he stated “I think we are all sent these challenges through our journeys and through our lives. This is one that I’m really enjoying.”
The 37 year old British driver is out of contention for the championship this year due to the lack of race pace in the Mercedes W13. Despite unfavourable circumstances, Lewis Hamilton has been able to secure a total of 146 points for the team and is currently 6th in the driver standings.
