Apple TV has announced a feature documentary project on the legendary F1 driver Sir Lewis Hamilton in March of 2022. The documentary will involve a film crew closely following the seven-time world champion, capturing his experiences both within the F1 paddock and his personal life. Alongside archival footage, the documentary will feature interviews with prominent personalities from various fields.
Hamilton expresses his desire for the upcoming documentary to emulate the impactful approach taken by the 1992 film ‘Racing Is In My Blood,’ which provided an intimate glimpse into the life of three-time champion Ayrton Senna. Speaking to Motorsport.com on the progress in production, he said, “My documentary along with Apple, it feels different. It feels strange having a camera following you around.”
“It’s about my life. It’s about my career and the journey to where I am with the hope really of doing what like Ayrton’s Senna Documentary did for me as a kid,” he added. Hamilton emphasized his desire to inspire a new generation as Ayrton Senna did. He continued, “Hopefully this will be able to do that for the next young kid that’s watching, coming home from school and dreaming of something. Hopefully there’ll able to watch this and be inspired to do something great themselves.”
